FIRST AID COURSE FOR DRIVERS
Course duration/timetable: 10 school hours
Course schedule:
for english speaking candidates:
– we organize small groups from 1 to maximum of 18 people – the course takes place every few months.
The course will be held on August 16-th 2025 from 8.00 am to approx. 4 PM.
If the candidate does not attend the course and does not cancel on time (at least 3 days in advance or by submitting appropriate proof), all payments will be due and an invoice will be issued for the occupied place.

RKS-OZ Ljubljana has the right to cancel the course if not enough candidates have registered. In this case, the candidates will be informed of the change in due time.

The course takes place in the lecture room on the 1st floor of the Humanitarian Center RKS-OZ Ljubljana (entrance located on Fajfarjeva ulica by the railway), or in the classroom next to the reception office of RKS-OZ Ljubljana on the 1st floor (entrance located on the side of the building).
Topics covered:
- moral and ethical responsibility of an individual to help and act properly in case of an accident,
- ensuring your own safety,
- the importance of calling 112,
- cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),
- unconsciousness,
- foreign body airway obstruction, bleeding, wounds,
- musculoskeletal fractures and injuries,
- intoxication, sudden illness,
- managing spinal injury.
The course combines modern didactic tools and teaching aids and offers dynamic practical exercises (e.g. CPR procedures and practice on a manikin and the use of AED (automatic external defibrillator)).
Basic literature for the exam:
There is a new first aid guide from 1st October 2021:
OSNOVE PRVE POMOČI – Priročnik za usposabljanje kandidatov za voznike motornih vozil (Ljubljana: Rdeči križ Slovenije, 2021).
You can borrow basic literature for one month at the reception office of RKS-OZ Ljubljana. To borrow the book, you need to pay a deposit of €25, which includes €5 of user fee, that will not be refunded upon returning it. If you do not return the book within one month, the remaining deposit of €20 will not be refunded.
